Bus Routes
The New Standard dispensary has left and The House of Evolution has taken its place. The House of Evolution is a seed to weed shop. They grow their own cannabis, process it, then sell it.
This dispensary and its budtenders were fabulous. They were knowledgeable and directed me to some great buds. On this visit, they had just opened up and had not started selling their edibles. I will be back to check out their brand.
For all you bike riders, House Of Evolution has a covered bike parking area in the rear of the parking lot.
Coming into Ann Arbor from the North
If you’re coming into Ann Arbor from the North, off M14, House of Evolution will be the first dispensary you’ll come across. It’s in one of the older homes on the west side of Main St at Depot. It’s a tricky parking lot to get to, if you’re coming from the South. But they have overflow parking on the other side of Rip Van Winkle’s mattress store.
Coming into Ann Arbor by Train
House Of Evolution is the closest dispensary to Ann Arbor’s Amtrak train station. It’s only two blocks west of the train station.
What’s Near this Dispensary
House of Evolution is located near some of Ann Arbor’s best outdoor activities.
Ann Arbor Walking Loop
House of Evolution is located by one of Ann Arbor’s best walking loops – you loop around the river. Catching the new trailhead is a little tricky. First, walk west up Depot on the north side of the street. Just as you pass the Pineapple building (which has a pineapple above the main doorway). Follow the sidewalk around the back (not toward the train station) You’ll walk behind a few buildings and then go under the river. Whether you go over the Argo Dam or head around towards the left, this is a really fabulous 2-3 mile walk.
Kayaking, Canoeing, & Tubing at Argo Park Canoe Livery
Kayaking or tubing at Argo is pretty darn close to House of Evolution. This is a wildly popular activity, so plan to come here during the weekday. (In season, of course.) Rentals are available at the Argo livery. The park itself underwent a major renovation over the 2021/2022 Winter season and is looking mighty fine.
Basketball
If you have your basketball with you (you didn’t forget it did you? Next time…), check out Wheeler Park’s basketball court. It’s just a block east Between Summit and Depot. You can also get a picnic table here and set up a nice spot to relax and have a picnic of Casey’s carry-out. There’s a public restroom here – a rare find in Ann Arbor.
Main Party Store
Pick up a cold one at the Main Party Store, as you head into town. They have a large selection of wines, including premium vintage wines in their cellar.
Distillery
Ann Arbor Distilling Company distills from SCRATCH, sourced from Michigan farms. They create gin, vodka, whiskeys, and more. Try the Water Hill Absinthe. This is a very fun place to visit. It’s upbeat and funky.
Casey’s Tavern
Check out Casey’s Tavern for your absolute best burger. It rivals any of Ann Arbor’s best burgers, consistently voted Best of Ann Arbor Burger. A joint, burger, and a beer. What more can one ask for?
